Mission Statement

Teaching Troubled Youth a Theatre Trade
From all aspects of the world of theatre, pre-production to merchandising, Together in Theatre provides the opportunity to disadvantaged and/or troubled youth to escape from the street world of gangs, dysfunctional homes, and disillusionment by learning a trade and developing positive self-esteem and communication skills through the lens of understanding, creativity, and social graces.

Together in Theatre provides a creative theatrical safe haven in the hope to empower youth with the self-confidence to want better for themselves than that offered in their “hood.”

How does Together in Theatre work?
Guided by professionals in the industry, children and young adults from 10 to 20 years of age become the administration, cast and crew of a 3 month theatre project; culminating in 8 public performances.
Thereafter, participants are welcome to return to join in future productions either as cast or crew or as junior or senior advisors to cast or crew. Participants that continue to have a passion for one of the theatre trades and successfully complete their project are guided and assisted to obtain internships in the industry at large.
